The Soothing Strings is a band made up of two sisters who have talents in violin and cello. Jocelyn Cribbs, a current sophomore at Cumberland Valley High School, has a deep passion for music and has been playing the violin for the past six years. Her sister, Evelyn Cribbs, a 7th grader at Mountain View Middle School, shares a similar passion and has diligently learned cello for the past three years.
Inspired by their mom, Kit Lu, an oncologist who helps hundreds of patients a year, Jocelyn and Evelyn wanted to help and connect with their community through local workshops and performances. Additionally, they combine their interests in science and music by supporting charities like the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and are planning to conduct workshops that demonstrate the science within music.
Jocelyn and Evelyn love different types of music, so performances often include mixes of popular radio music in a more classical iteration and other relaxing classical pieces. They typically perform a few times a year to help support different charities. Their performances are wholesome and lively, and they are intended to spread joy among local communities. It's finally here, our next performance, Saturday, September 27th! This concert will be located at Walden Hall and features a wide range of music, including sing-alongs, fun duets, and much more. Our purpose for these concerts is to help raise money for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. We look forward to seeing you there!
